Commissioned Work

I like thinking outside the box to solve the problems clients bring me. In addition to making tables and lamps, I also accept design challenges, both large and small. I recently designed some bathroom shelves for a home in Dillon Beach, then designed carriage doors for a home in  Petaluma. My larger projects include a pantry I revamped and made into a comfortable working area in Windsor, and the studio spaces I designed and created in San Francisco. David’s Walnut, Steel and Resin Front Door

Brief: To design and build the front door for David’s new house. Made with Client’s own walnut.

Suzie’s Laundry and Bathroom Shelves

Brief: To design and build shelving for storage in laundry room and bathroom.

David’s Kitchen

Brief: To expand existing kitchen by removing the utility area; to design and build out new counters, storage and shelving.

Brief: To design and create 3 working studio areas within a single space for a robotics research group in San Francisco. Area was to include ground floor studios and a reception area, followed by upstairs storage and utility area and an additional bathroom. I also clad the exterior walls with reclaimed timber and placed a durable epoxy floor coating in the passages and loading area. Work continues on this evolving space.

Connie’s Kitchen Counter Tops

Brief: To create a beautiful wooden center aisle counter top.

To create a complimentary wooden, waterproof sink top counter for same kitchen. Emphasis on working visually with Client’s chosen tiles.

Iain’s curved bookcase

Brief: To design and make a bookcase for the top of a spiral staircase which would create an area of visual and functional interest.

Iain’s Garage Door

Brief: To design and make a pair of heavy, insulated garage doors for possible conversion of garage into recreation room.
